About Bii

Founded in 1955, Bearing Inspection, Inc. (Bii) is the world's leading bearing inspection and reconditioning organization. Headquartered in Los Alamitos, California, Bii operates an 80,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. Bii provides complete bearing inspection and reconditioning services for some of the most respected companies in the aerospace and industrial sectors.

Bii supports leading air carriers, engine overhaul facilities, global military organizations and engine OEMs with the industry's highest value bearing inspection and reconditioning services. Other key programs include inventory management, reject replacement, on-site inspection service, engine kit programs, and a number of specialized engineering services. Founded as a bearing inspection provider to the U.S. Military, Bii soon discovered that it was possible to extend the life of bearings rejected during inspection through the development of a reconditioning process.

Early in the history of aviation, air carriers and overhaul facilities had no choice but to replace in-service bearings that failed inspection with new OEM bearings. These new bearings were extremely expensive, and in many cases difficult to procure. These financial concerns by our customers led to the development of Bii's world renowned Certified Reconditioning™ process. Invented by Bii, this process was the first commercially available bearing reconditioning procedure used for both commercial and military applications. The benefits of Bii's Certified Reconditioning process include:

Up to 80% savings over the purchase of new bearings.
Bearings that can be used in place of new in virtually any application.
The industry's fastest process turn-around-times - 12 days or less!
Can be used for any application that utilizes high-value ball & roller bearings.

For almost half a century, Bii has established a reputation for outstanding quality, phenomenal cost savings, and the industry's fastest turn-around-times. Bii received an FAA Repair Station Certificate in 1960, and has a global customer list that includes many of the world's leading airlines, military organizations and engine overhaul facilities. In addition, Bii holds OEM license approvals from General Electric for the CF6 engine, and Pratt &Whitney Aircraft for the JT8 engine.

Bii originally received ISO 9002 registration in 1998, and is now registered to the ISO 9001:2000 quality standard. ISO is the specialized international agency for standardization, at present comprising the national standards bodies of 91 countries. ISO is made up of approximately 180 Technical Committees, each of which is responsible for one of many areas of specialization. The standards they develop provide the foundation on which companies build quality management and quality assurance systems to ultimately achieve a high level of success.

Building on the success of the aviation sector, Bii also provides our service to the aeroderivative market. Aeroderivatives are jet aircraft (gas turbine) engines that have been adapted and modified for industrial use. Some of the applications of jet engines to the industrial markets include:

Generation: the production of electricity
Cogeneration: the production of steam and electricity
Industrial: pumping of fuels and other fluids
Propulsion: to propel ships

Bii has become the worldwide standard for aerospace, aeroderivative, and industrial bearing inspection and reconditioning. Bii's extensive experience, coupled with over 2.5 Billion successful service hours, is proof that reconditioned bearings are a solid investment for a variety of applications.
