Douglas Howland

As Controller for Bii, Douglas Howland manages a variety of corporate accounting functions. His experience crosses many industries and his counsel on financial matters is critical to the operational success of the company. Since joining Bii, he has been instrumental in making the transition to new accounting software.

His primary responsibility includes the day-to-day management of the accounting department. Chief responsibilities within the accounting department include: payroll, cash, accounts payable, receivables, fixed assets and related general accounting functions. As principal financial manager of the company, he is relied on to assist with the forecasting of operating results, while providing information and analytical support to ensure solvency and the efficient operation of the company.

Mr. Howland has more than 20 years of financial and operational accounting experience with both established and start-up companies in various industries. Some of these include petrochemical refining and marketing, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. His experience also encompasses a number of human resources functions, including recruiting, employee development and other personnel-related activities.

He has passed both the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certificate in Management Accounting (CMA) examinations. His expertise in the financial management includes a proactive focus on streamlining procedures, improving controls and implementing various cost-saving innovations.

Mr. Howland received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University at DeKalb. He is well-versed in many accounting software applications.
